Plastic

So i'm an old hogie now and i like news. I read that plastic baby bottles and other plastic bottles carry a chemical called Bisphenol A that they now believe leads to health and develormental problems. Now they are saying that vinyl shower curtains are unsafe also. I was kind of scared because i used plastic bottles with Guin but then i read that Playtex Drop-in's are safe to use. I used Playtex Drop-ins with Guin(thanks mom!). Whew! But i do use vinyl shower curtains. I think i'm going to switch just to be safe. Better safe then sorry right? Anyway i'm a safety freak so you'll probably hear some more on safety from me soon.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about shower curtains. The study that was referenced was pretty limited. If you're concerned about the smell potentially being toxic, you could air out a new curtain for a week before using it, as suggested by a doctor quoted in the article. Connection to illnesses in consumers doesn't exist, and since you don't work in a factory breathing in that PVC air all the time, you should be okay.

We just asked the lady who teaches our child birth classes about the bottle thing. She said that we should not be too worried. They all of codes they have to follow and if they were all really that unsafe, then they wouldn't be allowed to even be sold. I think you are pretty safe for now.
